Welcome to Sheffield Rainbow Laces and Rainbow Blades
Working to promote LGBT+ inclusion in sport in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond.
We are the official and affiliated Sheffield United LGBT+ and allies supporters club, launched in 2020.
Rainbow Blades is an inclusive supporter group for an inclusive football club.
We are a friendly, welcoming and inclusive Sheffield United Fan Group for all LGBT+ communities and our Allies. We want to help make Bramall Lane and Football in general inclusive spaces where everyone feels safe to be themselves.
We hold community sports events to promote LGBT+ inclusion. We run the Sheffield Rainbow Laces Tournament held at Goals Sheffield and the Sheffield Rainbow Laces Cup at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.
The Rainbow Laces campaign is a way for everyone involved in sport to show their support for LGBT+ equality and inclusivity.
Both groups aim to make football and all sports inclusive spaces where everyone feels safe to be themselves.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
"It was great to work in collaboration with Sheffield Rainbow Laces in raising awareness of this important issue and it demonstrates, yet again, what an amazingly inclusive city Sheffield is. I feel so proud that Sheffield is a city where people can come together, whatever their sexuality or identity and show their commitment to equality, diversity and inclusivity."

“It has been a genuine pleasure to work with Rainbow Blades the club’s LGBT+ fan group. The individuals involved in this group are going above and beyond to raise awareness, bring people together and support football fans across the country putting rivalry aside. "
“The existence of Rainbow Blades shows me that I don’t have to hide any part of mine – I am proud to be a Blade; I am proud to be bisexual."

“I came across Rainbow Blades in April 2020. I couldn't wait to sign-up. Identity is important to me. Sheffield United are a big part of who I am. I am pansexual and also gender fluid and sometimes, growing up, I felt out of place. Bringing Sheffield United and a group of LGBT+ Blades fans all together, makes me feel like I finally have somewhere I fully fit in. It has been great meeting other people who are part of the diverse fan base of the club."
